After Godan – 五段型の後 There is no physical advancement test after Godan (Shihan). Usually after a five year period a dedicated practitioner can request a grade advancement from the association. It is the responsibility of the Association President or Kaicho to decide if a person will be advanced or not, based on their dedication and contribution to the art. |

Note: 1. Grading tests can be performed only by an officially registered association instructor (Sensei), up to one grade below his/her own. 2. All grades from Shodan must be registered with the Association's Headquarter, Okinawa and only by the discretion of the association. A certificate with a unique serial number is issued as proof. Certificates may not be issued by any individual in the name of this Association under any circumstances, this includes registered Sensei, Shihan or any other claiming to be an official. 3. Only Ikkyu grade (Brown belt) is recognised by the association but do not need to be registered at the Association's Headquarter in Okinawa. The test must be done as per note 1. 4. If you need to check the authentication of an certificate and/or need to check if you have been registered to the Association send an e-mail for verification checked. |
